Housing Starts at 50-Year Low!

 

Housing starts fell 12.8%, to their lowest levels since records have been kept(1959!) Housing starts are nearly 80% below the January, 2006 high. Note: the housing boom peaked in 2005. The economy may be at a bottom with related to housing starts. This does not mean prices have yet to reach bottom, but it is an interesting sign.

Today, I had the opportunity to see former President Clinton speak before a small group about the Constitution and government. He made a remark, “details count,” in referring to the need for our government to plan its actions. I thought that is no different than in the business world…”details count!”

 

Most new businesses fail not because the owners do not know the substance of their field. Rather, they forget and defer the business details!
